Objectives
  • Discuss the history and principles of health screening.
  • Identify standard current screens and their sources.
  • Describe the impact of screening on individual patients and a population.
  • Evaluate tools and techniques to improve screening compliance.
  • Discuss the importance of behavioral health screenings: Participants will learn about the significance of behavioral health screenings in primary care settings, including the benefits of early detection and intervention for mental health conditions.
  • Identify and utilize available screening tools: Attendees will become familiar with various validated screening tools used to assess behavioral health, such as the PHQ-9 for depression and the GAD-7 for anxiety and understand how to effectively implement these tools in clinical practice.
  • Develop action plans for positive screening results: Participants will gain knowledge on the appropriate steps to take when a patient screens positive for a behavioral health condition, including referral processes, treatment options, and follow-up care to ensure comprehensive patient support.
