Objectives
  • Discuss the history and principles of health screening.
  • Identify standard current screens and their sources.
  • Describe the impact of screening on individual patients and a population.
  • Evaluate tools and techniques to improve screening compliance.
  • Discuss the importance of cardiovascular health screenings: Participants will learn about the critical role of cardiovascular health screenings in primary care, including the benefits of early detection and intervention for heart-related conditions.
  • Identify and utilize available screening tools: Attendees will become familiar with various validated screening tools used to assess cardiovascular health, such as blood pressure monitors, cholesterol tests, and electrocardiograms (ECGs), and understand how to effectively implement these tools in clinical practice.
  • Develop action plans for positive screening results: Participants will gain knowledge on the appropriate steps to take when a patient screens positive for a cardiovascular condition, including referral processes, treatment options, and follow-up care to ensure comprehensive patient support.
