Objectives
  • Apply the Age-Friendly Health System’s 4Ms Framework—What Matters, Medication, Mentation, and Mobility—to identify firearm-related risks and guide prevention and early intervention strategies for older adults.
  • Demonstrate effective, person-centered, and interprofessional communication approaches to engage older adults and families in conversations about firearm access, safety, and shared decision-making.
  • Integrate trauma-informed and team-based strategies to provide coordinated, compassionate care for older adult survivors of firearm-related injury, suicide, or violence that promotes safety, autonomy, and dignity.
