Objectives
  • Recognize early indicators of cognitive decline and dementia in older adults with IDD and understand the importance of timely assessment and support.
  • Analyze potential causes of behavioral changes in older adults with IDD and dementia, including environmental, medical, communication, and psychosocial factors.
  • Implement practical support strategies that reduce distress, support caregivers, and enhance the well-being of older adults with IDD experiencing dementia-related changes.
