When challenging behaviors emerge in infants and young children, knowing what is developmentally typical and when to be concerned can be difficult. This training provides practical approaches to assessing young children’s social-emotional health and understanding the factors that may influence behavior. Participants will explore the effects of trauma, social determinants of health, race, ethnicity, and culture on assessment and behavior, and identify strategies to recognize and address mental health concerns in early childhood settings.

Participants can earn 1.5 Social Work CEUs, 1.5 NCPD (ANCC Contact Hour) or a certificate upon successful completion.

• This session meets Texas Administrative Code requirements for 1.5 continuing education credit for Licensed Marriage and Family therapy, Licensed Professional Counselors, and Licensed Clinical Social Workers.
