  • Explain the types and signs of cardiac arrest and the common barriers to recognition
  • Explain the physiological mechanisms of cardiac resuscitation, including the impact of compressions, ventilations, and defibrillation, and why they are important to include in curriculum
  • Understand the importance of establishing and maintaining airway and oxygen skillsets
  • Explain the importance of regular site-specific cardiac EAP practice and how that can be integrated into the athletic training workspace
  • Differentiate between minimal recertification requirements and evidence-based best practices for maintaining CPR competency in healthcare providers
  • Evaluate current CPR training in athletic training and propose strategies to improve ongoing competency and clinical judgment
