Objectives
  • Develop a plan for preparation of equipment and staff for management of a precipitous delivery and its potential complications hemorrhage and hypertension.
  • Develop a plan for preparation of equipment and staff for management and care of the newborn following a delivery.
  • Demonstrate the management and basic maneuvers of delivering a baby in a non-obstetric setting.
  • Using simulation participants will demonstrate the initial care of the newborn recognize signs for initiating positive pressure ventilation and demonstrate the appropriate technique for PPV.
  • Report the overall management of an eminent birth and newborn care as evidenced through evaluation.
