The AHNA is a specialty nursing association serving over 5,500 nurses and holistic healthcare professionals in the USA and internationally. In late 2006, the American Nurses Association (ANA) recognized Holistic Nursing as an official specialty in nursing and assisted AHNA in publishing the Holistic Nursing Scopes and Standards of Practice. Today, AHNA is well-known as the definitive voice for holistic nursing. Our mission is to illuminate holism in nursing practice, community, advocacy, research, and education. Kansas Nurse Assistance Program
Mental and physical illnesses, aging issues and substance abuse, including alcohol and other drug addiction, can potentially impair professional practice and health. The Kansas Nurse Assistance Program (KNAP) is an organization developed to address the problem of potential impairment among various nurses in Kansas. KNAP is dedicated to ensuring public safety by assessing for, and assisting with, the rehabilitation of impaired healthcare providers by providing advocacy, consultation, referral, and monitoring services.
KNAP is a voluntary program that assists in the rehabilitation of nursing professionals while still attaining their professional licenses and serves LPNs, RNs, LMHTs, APRNs, and CRNAs struggling with substance abuse, mental heath issues, or decreased cognitive functioning.

Kansas State Nurses Association
The Kansas State Nurses Association has been in existence for over one hundred years and is the only full-service professional organization representing Kansas’ 50,000-plus registered nurses. The association is also a constituent member of the American Nurses Association. Our mission is to protect and enhance registered professional nursing practice in all environments to assure quality, affordable and accessible health care for people in Kansas. Key program areas of the association include legislation and governmental affairs, accreditation and provision of continuing nursing education, professional development, and supporting nursing practice and research. Legislation and governmental affairs encompass a broad range of issues, including workplace rights and safety, adequate and safe nurse staffing, continuing competency, access to quality health care, ethics and human rights, health care finance and nursing services reimbursement, nursing education, nursing practice and professional licensure. Amy Mundell is the Nurse Residency Program Manager for Stormont Vail Hospital. With 22 years of experience in NICU nursing, precepting, and teaching clinical students, she is passionate about growing new nurses and helping them develop professionally. She believes the Nurse Residency Program prepares Stormont Vail's newest nurses for a successful transition to practice and increases retention of quality nurses within the workforce.
