The Alcohol/Drug Council of North Carolina (ADCNC) is a statewide non-profit 501(c)3 organization (founded in 1955) that engages in recovery advocacy through the delivery of peer-designed and peer-operated education and services. We operate an information & referral call center that serves the entire state of North Carolina, providing access to substance use disorder treatment and recovery support services. We provide referrals to support services via our Hotline, via Online Chat through our website, & via Mobile Text messaging. In addition, our agency operates a Perinatal Substance Use Specialist Project that addresses screening, information, and appropriate referrals for women throughout North Carolina who are pregnant or parenting and using substances. Also, our agency operates a Screening, Assessment, and Brief Intervention services project for the North Carolina National Guard. All of our services are FREE of charge. Our mission is to reduce human suffering and the economic cost of alcoholism and other substance use disorders. We advocate for prevention, early interventions, and treatment services in a full-spectrum recovery-oriented system of care. We embrace all pathways to recovery. NC Professionals Health Program
The North Carolina Professionals Health Program (NCPHP) – Encouraging the well-being and recovery of medical professionals through compassion, support, accountability, and advocacy. Our experienced team assists health care providers with substance use disorders, mental health issues, burnout, communication problems and other issues that may affect their ability to deliver optimal care and services to their patients. Our expert evaluation, monitoring, and treatment referral programs also provide the basis upon which we advocate for participants to their employers, partners, hospitals, insurance panels, and licensing boards.
