Kansas Nurse Assistance Program
Mental and physical illnesses, aging issues and substance abuse, including alcohol and other drug addiction, can potentially impair professional practice and health. The Kansas Nurse Assistance Program (KNAP) is an organization developed to address the problem of potential impairment among various nurses in Kansas. KNAP is dedicated to ensuring public safety by assessing for, and assisting with, the rehabilitation of impaired healthcare providers by providing advocacy, consultation, referral, and monitoring services.

KNAP is a voluntary program that assists in the rehabilitation of nursing professionals while still attaining their professional licenses and serves LPNs, RNs, LMHTs, APRNs, and CRNAs struggling with substance abuse, mental heath issues, or decreased cognitive functioning.

Nurses Feed Their Young (NFTY) is on a mission to transform nursing culture through cultivating nursing leaders, innovating continuing education, and developing nurse entrepreneurs. We have recently launched an online community membership for nurses to assist healthcare organizations in providing emotional support, professional development and networking opportunities for their nursing teams.

Amy Mundell is the Nurse Residency Program Manager for Stormont Vail Hospital. With 22 years of experience in NICU nursing, precepting, and teaching clinical students, she is passionate about growing new nurses and helping them develop professionally. She believes the Nurse Residency Program prepares Stormont Vail's newest nurses for a successful transition to practice and increases retention of quality nurses within the workforce.
